Call for Papers
Purpose and Aim
After the successful first edition, and in the wake
of a buoyant and turbulent year for mobile service
platforms, the 2nd International Workshop Important Dates
on Business Models for Mobile Platforms will
take place in conjunction with the ICIN 2010 Extended abstract submission deadline: 15 May 2010
conference (www.icin.biz). It will focus on the Acceptance notification deadline: 15 June 2010
causes and effects of the current explosion of
platforms in the mobile ICT industry. Mobile Speaker registration deadline: 30 June 2010

including mobile devices’ operating systems,
mobile network protocols, mobile services
and applications, and so on. Through platform
ownership, companies position themselves as
central gatekeepers in the mobile industry.
The objective of this workshop is to explore changing business models and industry architectures as a result of the
introduction of mobile platforms. The workshop calls for original papers on this central topic. Papers may be of an
empirical or of a conceptual nature. They may deal with the characteristics of successful business models in this field,
the emergence of new mobile industry architectures, and the competition and collaboration between media, IT, internet
and telecommunications companies regarding mobile platforms. The presented research may focus on individual
platforms and applications, as well as on cross-platform comparative studies.
Registration and Paper Submission Workshop Topics
Registration and paper submission are through the EDAS
system at http://edas.info/N8948 The workshop is multidisciplinary, and specifically
encourages research papers on the following topics:
Papers for BMMP must be written in English and submitted
electronically through the EDAS system. A short (50 word)
abstract is required on registration of the submission. A Platform theories, network effects and multi-sided
detailed extended abstract should then be uploaded for mobile platforms
review by the Technical Programme Committee. Detailed Business strategies related to mobile platforms

Extended abstracts should be between 1000 and 1500 Business models for mobile app stores and mobile
words long. They should include relevant figures and tables search

Full papers should be no more than 6000 words long.
The BMMP 10 workshop proceedings will be published Technical Programme Committee
(electronically) within the ICIN 2010 conference
